George Poirier
George was called to the Ontario bar in 2014 after completing his J.D. at Osgoode Hall Law school the previous year. Prior to this, he worked in the legal field for almost 25 years, including more than a decade as a law clerk for both plaintiff and defence firms.
He has experience handling all manners of insurance disputes, including tort and accident benefits motor vehicle claims, loss transfer and priority disputes between insurers, insurance coverage issues, occupiers’ liability, property loss, construction litigation and subrogation claims on behalf of insurers.
George has acted as counsel before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and Licence Appeal Tribunal. He sees cases as problems to be solved, and brings a creative and detail-oriented approach to finding those solutions for clients.
In his spare time, George enjoys reading, blogging about music, taking cooking classes, doing Pilates, and fanatically rooting for his favourite sports teams.
